Tell us about your expertise
Public speaking is part of my day to day life and essential to my career. I can usually be found running webinars, hosting conferences and awards ceremonies, delivering training or chairing panel discussions. In the past few years, I have competed at an international level, taking second place in Europe for both debating and public speaking. I am passionate about helping others to understand their personal brand and increase their visibility.
How long have you been a JCI member?
9 years!!
What’s the best thing about being a JCI member?
So many amazing things to choose from! Ultimately, it’s all about the people you meet. I have met some of my closest friends through JCI and over the years have been inspired and supported by them in countless ways. JCI is unique in being able to provide your own personal, international cheering squad!
Tell us about a JCI highlight
Again, so many to choose from. Competing on stage in Malta and Finland? Winning three European awards for projects run under my presidency? Meeting the Irish Prime Minister? All great contenders but I’m going to go with sitting on the train home from Birmingham, reading the feedback from delegates after training the JCI UK Public Speaking Academy for the first time. To be able to develop new skills and then go on to support others to conquer their fears is an absolute privilege.
How has JCI helped you in your career?
It has made my career! I left a job that looked from the outside like success – Commercial Litigation Solicitor at the world’s largest law firm – and started pursuing my passions and learning what makes me happy. Through the skills and connections I have developed in JCI, I have created a career full of training, business development and giving back to my community.
