JCI UK Strategic Planning Weekend

This weekend Kirstie, Debbie, Gemma and myself all went to Sheffield to help JCI UK plan for the future.  We first started off on Saturday morning with a bit of a gossip to help us catch up with friends we haven't seen for a while and make new ones.  After a good catch up it was time to get some work done!  Our first port of call was to think of all the ways JCI UK might fail and die by saying RIP JCI UK!

Luckily this didn't last for long and after we had all got really sad we came together to look at all the ways we think we might fail and start to brain storm ideas on how to fix the problem. Now I know what your think, people from all over the country in one room trying to brainstorm, nightmare! But not to worry our UK President Solveig had come up with a great way of doing it, there were posters on the wall for lots of different areas, we then wrote our ideas on a post it note and stuck it to the poster, easy!

Saturday afternoon saw us trying to figure out where we wanted each area to be in 5 years time and to create a mission for ourselves, it was hard not to think of how to get there and to keep our minds on where we wanted to be because the HOW bit would come later.

After a long days planning and brainstorming we called it a night and headed home. Unfortunate Kirstie and Debbie were unable to come back for the Sunday but knowing they had left us some fantastic ideas to work with Gemma and I headed back to Sheffield to figure out how we were going to get JCI UK to where we wanted to be in 5 years. Like normal when coming up with ideas and projects Gemma and I went a little crackers and were reaching for the moon (well actually 100 years of historical info but that's a story for another time!).

By lunchtime on Sunday we knew where we wanted to be in 5 years and how we as a national organization are going to get there and its pretty safe to say we wont be saying RIP to JCI UK any time soon.
