More than just a few drinks with friends.

Thirsty Thursday  - 20th August, 2009 JCI Reading was at Up the Junction bar  for  the Salsa dance the weekly classes are organised by Up the Junction and run by Sharon Lawrey of Redhatsalsa.com.

The class is made up from mixed abilities and we were taught the principles of dancing Salsa and some of the basic steps we learnt include the back basic step, forward- back step, the side rock step, the opening out step then we moved onto some advanced moves including the Cuban spin and the octopus. Next time you see Carrie or Femi please feel free for a short demo!

After the beginners’ session was over, we watched the more experienced dancers while they practiced their dance routines for the advanced class session.  Thereafter, the dance floor was open to everyone, to practise and perfect the new steps. It was very relaxing and friendly atmosphere filled with loads of fun as experienced dancers danced with the beginners to ensure their mastery of the basic steps.

In all, JCI Reading would like to thank the all the staff from Up the Junction and Sharon for making this a memorable and exciting evening.

Be warned, we will be back!
